"Seattle in Black & White"
48in x 24in
Seattle can often be painted with big strokes of black and white. For this piece, I wanted to unpack that inclination and explore nuance for the way in which we view our city. A city filled with challenges and frustration, is also a city filled with beauty, history, nuance and complexities.
Materials: plywood, acrylic paint, spray paint, on wood panel

"98118?"
47in x 25.5in
In a city that is rapidly changing as a result of gentrification and displacement, are the places we identify as home, still home? Places that molded us, places that gave us our most precious memories, places that shaped who we became, are they still home to us? This piece is a reflection of that struggle and coming to grips with my old neighborhood looking & feeling unknown to me, yet still deeply significant.
Materials: acrylic paint, spray paint, on mdf board with cedar wood frame.
